So it's day 19 with Emi...and I finally feel like we have found our groove. The breastfeeding is becoming easier and more enjoyable and Emi is starting to be on a more predictable schedule. She has started waking herself at night so we no longer have to set the alarm every 3 hours to feed her. Thank goodness! And, she is finally looking like she is gaining some weight. She's such a tiny little girl, so much smaller than my other kids were, so I'm a bit neurotic about feeding her and getting her nice and chunky. Half the time, I feel like she is probably thinking...oh, no...here comes that lady and her boob again ;)
We went to the pediatrician for a weight check on Wednesday and she was up to 7 pounds 4.8 ounces from 6 pounds 11.5 ounces the week before. Yay!
Oh, and she still has hair ;)
And one more for fun...

Emily Paige Evans was born Wednesday, June 29th at 7:25am. Weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces and 20 inches long. She has a full head of hair and is just as sweet as can be! We love her immensely and she has completed our family perfectly.
The c-section could not have gone any better. The operating room was full of excitement and the doctor got her out in just about 15 minutes. When she did come out, she just cried a little, but was breathing great and "pinked" up quickly. Everything checked out great so she was able to stay with me in the operating room while they stitched me up and then followed me into recovery. There, they cleaned her up, gave her a vitamin k shot, and then immediately handed her to me to try nursing. She did great and latched on right away. We spent a couple of hours in recovery snuggling and getting to know each other and then they took us to our post partum room. She never left my side. I wasn't sure how I would feel after the surgery and I was a little scared about keeping her in my room all day and all night, but now I wouldn't have had it any other way. She is such a wonderful baby, sleeps 23 out of 24 hours, so I was still able to get lots of rest.
We stayed just two nights in the hospital and then came home. She continues to be a dream baby. You always hear that 3rd babies are easy, but she seriously has to be the easiest baby ever. She hardly ever fusses. And when she does it's like a tiny little whimper if she's wet or just went poopy. She nurses great and allows Luke and Olivia to hold her and love on her whenever they want. My heart has exploded with love for this sweet little baby and now that she's here it's like she's always belonged to us. It has been amazing to watch as Luke and Olivia have fallen just as in love with her as Nick and I. And, Nick...well, let's just say he's smitten...for a second time. The guy just doesn't stand a chance with these two precious little ladies in his life. He's such a wonderful dad. We are so blessed...
And since I know you want pictures, here they are...mostly from the couple days we spent in the hospital and then a few since we've been home...
And, more pics from the day she was born...
